Percussion Around the World

with The Marimba Trio

From the drums of Africa to the steel pans of Trinidad, Percussion Around the World is the program to take your students on a musical tour of the world!

The Marimba Trio also offers the following programs: Percussion As Communication, exploring music and percussion as a means of communication. Introduction to Percussion, where ragtime, Latin, rock and Bach are all explored! 100 Years of Front Range Music-Making, bringing you the history of the Front Range from our very special musical perspective. Percussion From the Ground Up (a workshop), where students use a variety of percussion and homemade instruments to explore the basics of drumming and the creative process. PLUS: Percussion Through the Ages, and History of African Music.

Members of The Marimba Trio perform regularly with the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, Central City Opera Orchestra, and other Front Range classical and popular music groups. Having performed for over 100 Front Range area schools, we hope (with your help!) to showcase our vast assortment of over 50 world percussion instruments to many more Colorado students!
