Eric Many Winds Herrera
Native American Flute Artist
Eric Many Winds Herrera, whose heritage includes that of
Blackfeet Indian, European Hispanic and German, has been
a musician for over 37 years with talents spanning brass,
string, percussion and flute instruments. As a performing
artist, the Native American flute is his most heart-felt talent
and considers the play a responsibility and an honoring
of his Native American heritage. Through his music, his
intent is to tell the Native American story and to enrich the
lives of those who hear it. His play of the flute and native
story telling take the listener on a journey, a journey back
in time and a visiting of the ancients.
Eric, as a recording artist, working with another talented
musician (Price Berryman) are known together as “Winds
of the Spirit”. They recently released (Sept. 2004) their debut
CD “Essence of Sage”. Eric and Price have a connection
in their creative works that touch a person’s sole in ways
others cannot. Eric’s play of the native flute is a haunting
and spiritual celebration of life and nature. Joined with
Price’s natural master of the guitar, keys, and folk musical
composition, they together blend the music of the ancients
with the new. The musical experience of “Winds of the
Spirit” enriches the senses of all ages and leaves the listener
with a life touched warmth and gladness...
